Data methodology
A transparent explanation of how rider profiles, equipment records and season rankings are assembled and how uncertainty is handled.
Sources used
The database is assembled from publicly available material including official event information, team and rider communications, manufacturer product pages, public sponsor listings, race photography and reputable event coverage.
A manufacturer link identifies the product family but does not by itself prove every internal tune, prototype part or race-day setting.
Equipment identification
A component is recorded when its brand or model can be identified with reasonable confidence. Model names are normalised so small differences in punctuation, accents or naming do not fragment the statistics.
When only a brand is known, the database avoids inventing a model. When a component remains uncertain, it may be omitted until stronger evidence is available.
Updates
Race results and standings are updated as new season data is imported. Equipment records are updated when a verifiable change is identified; the absence of a new entry does not mean that every component was physically rechecked after every run or every race.
The global update date describes the most recent database publication, not a guarantee that all 64 setups were independently reconfirmed on that day.
Equipment rankings
Equipment rankings combine the current season points of tracked riders associated with a product. They describe competitive presence within this dataset; they are not laboratory tests and do not prove that one product is objectively better than another.
The number and performance of sponsored riders strongly influence these totals. Rankings should be read alongside rider count, category and season context.
Corrections
Corrections should include the rider, component or result concerned, the proposed change, the relevant race or date and a public source that supports the correction.
